Stonewall Motor Lodge

We were pleased with our stay at the Stonewall Motorlodge. The room was cozy and relaxing. The walls between the rooms, especially the bathroom, are thin and the bathroom did not have hand soap so we used the body wash. I would have like having regular (not decaf) coffee in the room, but we found some in the lobby. We also liked the no frills check in. We would book again and recommend.

My sister and I arrived on Saturday for a 1 night stay while visiting Fredricksburg and the general area. The grounds were clean. Loved the upstair deck and lights. This a very quiet place even being located next to the highway. We found Room 4 to be VERY CLEAN and quite comfortable. I would stay here again.

We stayed here in end of June 2025 and the cabin wasn’t the cleanest, so our expectations for this stay weren’t high. We were pleasantly surprised this go around. When we walked in it smelled of being freshly cleaned and sanitized. The location is perfect for us, as we do some activities in Fredericksburg and some in Hye and Johnson city. We also saw some deer near the woods. The TV had a very bad delay but wasn’t a big deal. The shower water was warm at best but it was a cold night, about 40° outside, so that could have impacted the water temperature. The coffee maker needed a good cleaning so we didn’t use it and the biggest complaint is the shower curtain. It had stains on it and it was icky. I think investing in glass shower doors would really elevate the place and be cleaner. Overall

My wife and I love the Stonewall Motor Lodge! Convenient, Clean, Comfortable!!! Plus a great price. We’ve stayed in “The Press Room” several times. We enjoy the LBJ nostalgia and look forward to seeing all the fun old photos. This is our little secret on our trips to the Texas Wine Country and our wine club pick-ups. Check it out, you’ll be happy you did!!

Had a great stay! #18 was a great cabin! Clean, quiet and comfortable! Checking in was a breeze! All questions were answered with the information page! Every detail was covered! Close to Garrison Brothers Distillery and different wineries which was a plus!! Quick drive to Fredericksburg and all they have to offer! Highly recommend!
