Steel Pony Campground

Great location for Sturgis Rally, The new section not planned too well with no base rock installed prior to opening making riding in and out on a motorcycle a bit harrowing. Ft Also the lack of internet coverage as promised disappointing. Staff is friendly and bar tenders fantastic. Proly take a wait and see approach for next year to see if improvements are made before choosing this camp ground. Does offer a convenient shuttle to downtown however.

Have stayed here for years during the entire Sturgis Rally. They used to have bands at the Campground bar but they quit doing that a few years ago yet the price has consistently gone up about $100 a year. The bartenders would rather talk to their friends than serve customers and they even closed a couple hours early when there was about 25 customers at the bar which, during rally week is unacceptable. They still get a few good bands at their bar in Sturgis but the number of quality bands there has gone down over the years too. Time to try The FTS Campground since they stepped up their game this year with bands and structural improvements.

Close camp ground to downtown. Super friendly! Very helpful! Clean property! Electricity hookups for RVs. Showers, bathrooms, laundry ($2 wash, $2 dryer). They have 2 pools with a fun appearance.

Didnt even want to leave one star..We were harassed by the employee's on the bus..they called us names and said we couldn't ride the bus that we paid for with our campsite purchase. One of the employees said she was going to beat us up....I'm not sure what kind of drugs their on, but it unexceptable!!! You dont treat customers like that!! Will not come back..we've always stayed at Lamphere. We'll go back next year.

Really liked the bartenders and all the activities they did.they made it fun.the girl in the store was even fun.not good workers this year,there not to friendly shower were not as clean.
