Steamboat Inn

We had an incredible time at the Steamboat Inn over the Thanksgiving weekend. This is an alternate year for our grown children so, since we were going to be basically alone, my sister, her husband, daughter, and my husband and I met up at the Steamboat Inn in Central Oregon. We came from SW Washington and they came from SoCal to rent one of the Inn's mid-century style 3-bedroom houses for 3 nights. Weather obliged and we even had sun. Anyway, the accomodations were just that - perfectly accomodating. The staff at the Inn are lovely, and kind and generous hearted. We felt so at home. The FOOD WAS AMAZING! The Inn serves breakfast and lunch daily to guests, though we only had lunches and dinners, which were all just lovely. We also had the extreme pleasure of sharing Thanksgiving Dinner

We had promised ourselves a visit having heard from friends of its specialness. Finally...Thanksgiving weekend for two along the Umpqua River. |Dinner in the restauarant is everything we had heard...interesting menu and great meal. The room was very comfortable and we didn't want to get out of bed in the morning but breakfast here should not be missed. The Staff is friendly and helpful with information. There's a reason this Inn has been so popular for so many years! We're already talking about our next stay.

My wife and I truly enjoyed our stay. We stayed in one of the cottages about 1/4 of a mile away, tucked into the woods with a short walk to the river. The cottages have a cabin feel to them, which we loved. The location is amazing - sitting on the beautiful Umpqua river, miles away from the closest town or structures of any kind. Hiking, fishing, waterfalls and a hot springs, all within a 30 minute drive. Crater Lake National park is only an hour away. Food at the Inn was excellent. We had dinner two nights and breakfast one day. The dinner menu is understandably limited due to the remote location but the ingredients were fresh and cooked to perfection. We will definitely be back!.

We stayed at one of the homes across the Umpqua River from the main Inn. It was very comfortable and quiet, with a view of the River and easy access down to the river. If we had known how much we would like it, we would have stayed longer. We will definitely be returning.

Our family gathered on the banks of the Umpqua River for a delightful week long visit. We stayed in one of the mid century houses that are offered for larger parties. The home was perfect for our group. Having two bathrooms and three bedrooms was just right. We used the kitchen from 9 a.m. to 10 pm and found the dining room with its view toward the river and the living room with its comfy couch and large chairs to be just right for talking or playing games. Such a great place to gather for our family and the two dogs. |River access was easy for both our fly fishermen and those who wanted to get wet. couldn't have been better.||Since one of our party is a professional chef we didn't use the restaurant as much as we might have but for those who arrived early and stayed until our time
