Staybridge Suites Chicago-Oakbrook Terrace by IHG

I previously wrote a negative review, but have decided to amend it. The staff here are wonderful. The housekeeping team, chefs, and front desk agents are incredibly sweet and hardworking. They always make us and our service dog feel welcome. We also genuinely enjoy the food; the buffets and happy hours are delicious and a real highlight. Future guests should know that the walls are quite thin. Sound travels very easily here. This has led to some misunderstandings regarding noise. Because of this, we have decided to move to a different hotel after our current stay finishes. We simply want to avoid any further noise complaints that we feel aren't fair to us. If you are a light sleeper or sensitive to noise complaints, just be aware of the layout. Despite that issue, the kindness of the staff

When I arrived to the hotel with my coworker, Vanessa, the desk attendant discovered I had booked at the wrong hotel. She patiently assisted me in booking a room on the same floor as my coworker at Stay Bridge. She sensed I was stressed, spoke with me calmly and gave me a snack. The best part of my stay was the professional, caring staff. The hotel is located in a safe, easily accessible area close to great resturants. A small duck pond is behind the hotel. The full morning breakfast included a variety of hot and cold choices each morning. Three days of the week, a complimentary happy hour offered fewer choices. While the hotel was extremely clean and my bed very comfortable, the decor could use a refresh. I Appreciated the built in shampoo, conditioner and shower gel dispensers.

I've been here 2 weeks, part of a long-term medical stay. I can't say enough good about this hotel. The staff, though, is what makes it fabulous (and I rarely use that word). They are all so friendly, extremely helpful, desirous of making the experience good, and quick to fix anything that is not quite right (in my case, a recalcitrant dishwasher!) Most important, the hotel is extremely clean, and they work hard to keep it so. Breakfasts are a bit boring, but the quality of the food is good, especially the fresh fruits. The neighborhood is quiet and safe, and if you like to walk, has plenty of areas to get a good walk in. Tons of stores and restaurants nearby. I have some mixed thoughts staying here with my family for 3 nights. On the positive side, the location is excellent and felt safe throughout our stay. Having on-premise parking was a big advantage, even though spaces are limited. The suite rooms are spacious and come with a built-in kitchen, dishwasher, and basic utensils, which makes it convenient for families or longer stays. Housekeeping service was satisfactory, and the food options were decent. However, there were several drawbacks. The beds were smaller than expected — not even standard double beds — which made sleeping arrangements less comfortable. The air conditioning unit was quite noisy at night. The hotel staff here are very rude and nasty. They racially profile a lot of people who aren’t their skin color. The managers are very rude, told people to find another hotel if they aren’t satisfied with being lied on. They half clean rooms, the keys barely work if you want to go in your rooms and side doors. There are roaches and lady bugs all over. Rooms have mold and hallways have mold! Toilets barely work, sinks barely work, even tubs barely work. One star review!!
