Springer Station

I grew up in Springer and I watched this hotel go from one owner to the next and at one point completely shut down. I was sad when it was out of business! I genuinely hoped that it would reopen and it did. The atmosphere is dope and the family is very warm and welcoming. I've stayed her about six times and every time is just a wonderful experience. You have to appreciate the history of the Brown Hotel and understand Springer to really see the potential of Springer Station.They took the bones of a historical hotel and brought life back into this place! I personally love it. My husband is a trucker and we'll purposely take this route just to go through Springer, so we can stay! 10/10- it's a great experience. I liked this hotel so much we made a second reservation a week after our first. The young lady running the desk was very nice. Walked us upstairs to our room and explained the common area layout. Rooms were very quiet. We went with a suite which offers two queen and two twin beds with a jack and jill bathroom. The family that currently owns the hotel also runs The Depot restaurant down the street. Might I suggest a little history of the hotel brochure or something. Fun locations like this one need their story told.

What a great little find. We needed a pet friendly hotel for our family of 5 plus our dog between Colorado and Dallas. Springer Station at the Brown hotel came up on Expedia. We rented an affordable 2 room suite with a jack and Jill bathroom. I didn’t know what to expect going into it. We actually loved it and would stay here again if in the area. You can tell it’s over 100 years old for sure, it has such historic charm. Our kids loved learning the history of the building. We looked up the song “On The Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe” which was composed in the 1940s and my jazz loving son already looked up the music to learn to play it. My youngest loved playing the antique piano that’s probably as old as the building and still plays beautifully. We all slept comfortably. All and all a great

I stayed overnight at Springer Station on 24 May 2025, the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend on one of many stops of a cross country and back motorcycle trip. I actually stayed there because of the reviews and the responses to the reviews, which were honest and forthright in either addressing an issue at the hotel, or calling out a guest for unrealistic expectations. My experience was great, and not because of lowered expectations but because this hotel and it's family ownership tell you exactly what this hotel is about long before check in. It is a family run, fairly bare bones experience that reflects time, effort and care as they continually strive to elevate the guest experience at a more than reasonable price. Friends and I were traveling thru the area and needed a place to stay. This was a welcome surprise, as we are used to chain hotels. The family who owned the hotel greeted us right away, helped carry our bags upstairs, and made us feel very welcome. The rooms were spacious and clean. We did have a shared bathroom (some rooms do have private bathrooms) but that was fine by us. We definitely recommend this hotel.
