Spring Lake Campground

Price paid: $25 cash for electric, we didn't need sewer. Yes, it is an older campground. Yes, some people live there. Yes, you can ride the bugs they are so big. Hahaha But who wouldn't want to stay near someone's home that they love and care for? Cindy was charming & kind and let us choose what spot worked best for us. I loved talking with her. The campground was clean and well kept. Everyone seems to keep their stuff contained. The power pole was nice because it was at a reasonable height and we didn't have to kneel down to use it. We tested the power before we plugged in and it was in perfect and safe condition, no surges. The sites were not level but we had no trouble using our Anderson to work it out. My guess is most people there are self contained and don't need the shower house. It

Cindy the owner is very sweet she even drove my husband down to see her spots. and for sure wanted to help us stay there but It is too small for a 44’ class A. We had heck backing out on road luckily were able. Other problem was the road that circled the lake was damaged to put new culvert so only way out was back up|Would be ok for any rv under 30’ for sure.

Stayed here for while when doing contract in the area. Based on my experience and dealing with the manager whom tries to act like a bully. Never had issue with any dozens of rv parks in the past like I did with springlake campground. Anyways don't let the manager bully you, remind her that she is running a business in Iowa and we'll law's apply even when she having a tantrum. Anyways lots are not level, water is unsafe to drink (county health department will test eater specimens if you ask them fyi), water is full of sediment so will clog your rv lines or filter, water pressure is low, parking is tight, space to move camper is tight, no amenities, unsafe sometimes, etc. Place will flood if Mississippi River comes up so be prepared to move camper out if it does. Looking for RV parks, and thought to give this one a try. I guess should have read the reviews. Husband pulled into place and about 5 minutes was all it took to pull right back out. Place is a dump for sure. Lady or manager that owns place was rude too. I think Cindee was her name. Only accepts cash and nothing else. This is the equivalent of a one star hotel for sure.

We had a great weekend camping here! We were going to a soccer tournament in Burlington and there were no hotel rooms available, so we decided to take the camper. First we went to the Wever campground, but it’s basically just a big parking lot, no trees, right off a state highway… Would be fine if you just need a place to stay for the night, I think they were charging $40 a night. But we wanted more of a campground feel, so we decided to drive over to Spring Lake Campground. I was a little nervous because of some of the negative reviews, and the fact that it has a lot of full-time residents.
