Sonesta Los Angeles Airport LAX

Love this outstanding hotel! Its staff is superb! I’m still telling others about how great a job they do at the Sonesta making every guest feel welcomed. Our Letters California Style 2026 was held here in February. Location is convenient to the airport and its shuttle service is excellent. Their food prepared for our buffet lunches and dinners were five stars in my opinion. I could not tell them enough how delicious it all was! Their service to our tables went above and beyond taking care of us. Stellar service! I liked the flow of the lobby and adjacent cafes and restaurant as well as the bar. Very nice rooms, spacious, with decent view. A/C was working great. The water pressure was alittle low but not low enough to raise a fuss about. I didn’t have any noise disturbances during my stay either. There are a few places to eat in the area, but not many. The hotel has a few restaurants, but my short experience with the sushi restaurant was not great. The lobby was very busy upon arrival, and they did not list how to locate the amenities upon arrival, but I figured they would have signs to guide me. There are no signs to help locate the fitness center or pool. Regardless of how busy the staff were upon check-in, I think it’s important to either put up signage or make it a point for the staff to take a few seconds to go over the amenities. Long wait for the pick up shuttle, even though our arrival time was at 7pm. When we went up to our room, it obviously had been recently occupied. Beds were unmade, towels on floor, etc… It felt creepy. When we went back to the lobby, no apology was made, it was almost like she didn’t believe us. Our next room was really nice, big, clean and a wonderful bathroom. The booking was made in advance DIRECTLY with the hotel for a rate of $184, including all fees and taxes. Our credit card was charged $229. When we called the hotel ( from the airport on our way home) the hotel blamed the credit card company and told us to call the bank. The hotel location is convenient for LAX, and the room itself was acceptable.However, I experienced a billing issue during my stay. Although my reservation was fully prepaid through Trip.com, the hotel incorrectly charged my credit card for the room again at check-out.Resolving this issue was quite inconvenient. I had to contact the hotel multiple times on my own, and due to the 15-hour time difference between Thailand and the U.S., I could only reach the appropriate department late at night.While the hotel eventually processed the refund, the amount was returned in USD, which resulted in a small loss due to currency exchange.I hope the hotel can improve internal communication and billing accuracy to prevent this from happening to future guests.

The rooms are exceptionally clean and well-maintained, which immediately creates a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. The location is excellent within easy walking distance of several restaurants, making it incredibly convenient for meals without needing to drive. I especially appreciate that the property feels modern and refreshed rather than outdated. The decor and overall ambiance give it a contemporary feel, which makes the stay even more enjoyable. Overall, it’s a great combination of cleanliness, convenience, and updated style.
