Sleep Inn Beaver- Beckley

While this used to be my go-to place to stay in the area, it won't be any longer. I'm not sure if the relative distance to some local surroundings plays a part in why this hotel has changed (take a look at an aerial view), but while the room is comfortable and the people at the front desk are nice, the walls and ceilings seem to be thin. The past two nights cars were parked outside the room in the rear lot with engines running and stereos booming. After alerting the front desk, the kind attendant went outside to confront the culprit and notified them of numerous complaints, but it did nothing. Later they drove away. But guess what? They are back. So much for peace and quiet. Don't stay here. Enjoy your vacation or work night in a nicer place with no stress.

Booked this place last minute for our family to deal with a death in our family. We spent all of our waking hours attending services and being with family so we only used the room for sleep. When we woke up the second morning to find our toiletries covered in ants we asked the hotel staff to compensate us. We were told that "because we waited to long into our stay to report the problem they'll offer us 5000 points". Safe to say we're not happy with our stay here or their resolution to the room problems.

The room was OK for the price and a short overnight while traveling. No elevator, but the night clerk was gracious and helped carry luggage up to 2nd floor. Would have been more comfortable with more attention to cleaning. (As experienced road trip people we bring disinfectant wipes and Lysol spray and "room" socks.) Tile floors in toilet shower area had dirty buildup in corners, outlet near sink was dirty, sliding door separating sink from shower stall and toilet was dirty from soiled hands. The Sleep Inn typical bathroom configuration of seperating sink from toilet/ shower stall with a sliding door, while leaving sink in room with beds is not liked by many. Better idea, if the short wall that separates sink from beds was longer to offer more privacy while using sink. Breakfast was meager

Positive: Location was convenient for my needs Negative: The "manager" was incredibly rude and hateful. She was more concerned about being right and show casing her perceived control instead of actually listening. She stole from my elderly, disabled father and made him feel terrible. Shame on her.

I have been staying at this location several times a year for the last 5yrs. and always had a great experience. Clean rooms, ample breakfast food, kind and helpful staff. My last trip was stressful but my concierge greeted me with helpful advice, provided some awesome camomile tea and resources to get us through the evening. Thank you Sue!
