Short Stay

I visited my parents who were camping at Short Stay. It was beautiful and easy to enjoy. There were several aspects of the facilities that were in need of maintenance, and I don't know if they just weren't fixed because it was over the holiday. It's not my first time here, and won't be my last. I hope the attention to maintenance needs improves.

My family and I have enjoyed Short Stay Joint Base Charleston for many years, drawn by its convenient location, well-appointed amenities, and the warm hospitality of its staff. As multigenerational Navy veterans, we carry deep pride in our service heritage and would frequent the campgrounds multiple times during the year. During our recent July 4th stay, I displayed three flags: the United States flag (Old Glory), the South Carolina state flag, and a Trump-style Gadsden “Don’t Tread on Me” flag. The Gadsden flag dates back to 1775, when Continental Navy forces adopted it as a symbol of American resolve and naval tradition. It remains a historic emblem of unity and patriotism. Stayed on the lake for Labor Day with, my wife one of my sons, my grandchildren two of them and my brother. we enjoyed ourselves... the weather was beautiful . 😎 I recommend them to All veterans to take advantage for their summertime fun fishing and family outings.

We had a great family reunion here. The view is amazing. Perfect setting for family gatherings. We rented 8 villas and were able to have all the kids play within that area. The rooms were clean. It would have been nice to have one more toilet for a three bedroom place but we made it work. Loved it and can't wait to come back.

It's a great campground. Prices are unbeatable. Stay is always nice. Great selection in the general store. Everything is always clean as best as it can
