Sherlock Motel Inc

I can't say enough good things about the Sherlock and Sonia the owner! This may be a budget motel but the room i had was very large, nicely furnished in a bit dated style but sparkling clean, great fast wifi, super A/C and tons of places to hang and store things. Sonia is endlessly helpful... I even saw her help a man find his way to another motel when he was lost - even called that motel for him. She helped me organize my shopping and find a good place for dinner. She provided a hose, bucket and rags so i and another guest could wash our bug-crusted motorcycles. Great price, great room, great service AND motorcycle friendly. I just finished a 10,000 kilometer loop through Canada and the U.S. and this was the best place I found. Simply outstanding in it's class!

My husband and I were traveling on bikes along the northern tier. Our trip ended in Shelby where we were going to catch the Amtrak. We stayed at the Sherlock which turned out to be a wonderful choice. The hotel is located a few blocks from downtown, two blocks from a grocery and a few blocks from the train station. Our room was clean and spacious. We had our picnic dinner on the balcony which the best place in town to see the fireworks (we arrived on the Fourth of July). Our host was very nice to us and very accommodating.

The reviews sold the place for me. It is like people said, not new so has some character and Sonia is delightful to visit with and helpful. Rooms are a good size (1 bed though big enough for 2), clean and good wifi. Got recommendations for other motels for my trip east. Sorry to see these places being hurt by the "Walmart" motels coming in? Can't do anything about the train noise as all of the towns in northern MT are along the tracks.

The Sherlock Motel is a first- rate, super clean and comfortable traditional motel. Such a pleasant change from the bland carbon copy chains. The stay was a pleasure, starting with the kind reception from the owner, who really cares about her guests. The room was well appointed and spotless, the bed very comfortable and everything just worked without fuss. Just what we needed after a long drive. Definitely a 100% recommendation!
