Shelby Motor Lodge

The rooms were very nice and clean. The cleaning lady was very helpful and there was a man who worked in the office that went above and beyond what was required to ensure my pleasant stay. The internet dropped in an out and was unreliable, and the tv didn't work all the time, but I wasn't there to watch tv anyway sot hat didn't bother me much. However, the woman who owns and runs the place was absolutely horrible. She accused me of stealing towels (I didn't, I just told me the maid I didn't need as many as she had been giving me) and called me a liar on more than one occasion. I had a business contact meet me at the location of my hotel to go over some notes, and she accused me of lying about how many people were staying in the room. I can't complain because I needed the rest after no sleep for 3 days but it was actually unsafe due to the door couldn't lock and the bathroom had black mold. If we weren't desperate we wouldn't have stayed. I want to update: the last three days was different and I will definitely go back really wish I had money to stay longer this last time . It really beats walking the roads

Arrived cat in room, window ajar no lock. Entrance light didn't work. Bulbs missing & burnt out. No hot water, fan didn't work for bathroom, tub stained. Garbage under BR sink. Place needs a major renovation! $89 was way to much!

We wound up needing a place to stay for the night after having some car issues. Check in was easy and the man was very polite. The room is not fancy and could do with some cosmetic updates, but it was clean and comfortable. Exactly what we needed. Thanks!

Tbh I was not expecting much when I stayed here 2 nights on short notice. This room was very clean, free wifi, mini fridge, ac worked great. The building is obviously old so things can be old and worn. No complaints at all. I had a great stay
