Shaws Komfort Motel

Totally adequate. New ownership is really putting in the effort; cheapest motel in town, right next to everything, staff was nice and went out of their way to help multiple times, friendly and very accommodating even for us with our big trailer, everything was clean, doors and windows work great, AC works great (musty smell when you first come in because they keep the AC off when there are no guests, and it's a humid area, but once you put the Air Con on the musty smell goes away and the room cools beautifully). In fact they even had a TV that connects to HTMI, and we've been to nicer hotels that don't have such a new, working TV. Visiting a friend for the weekend, I booked a room for two nights. The moment I entered the room, I was hit by a powerful musky smell. The room hasn't been aired out in months. I turned on the AC and ceiling fan to clear out the scent. The AC had busted vents and was so old and noisy I couldn't hear the TV. Bed was so firm I had back pain. Good thing it was summer cause the front door had a huge gap and flimsy locks. On checkout day they rushed me out off the room. Desk clerk came by at 9:30am, a tenant at 10:15 and clerk again at 10:45. She was waiting outside the room for the key! Couldn't wait to get out of that place.

I am not sure where all of these other reviews came from but I can honestly tell you this hotel staff was rude. The maid refused to even clean the rooms and we were asked to clean our own rooms. We were there a week and were basically bossed around on what to put our AC on and when to have it off. We returned after a day out and our room door was wide open and no one inside or in sight thankfully none of our personal belongings were stolen. When I confronted the owner her response was "nobody come near room I out here the whole time" as she was in another room clear across the property...anyone could have came in to our room and taken things. Also when checking in we were asked if we wanted a nonsmoking room or smoking I answered nonsmoking but the room smells like smoke and there were bur

The bed and room was clean and fairly comfortable. Air conditioning wasn't great, but on high fan and ceiling fan on high sleeping temp was comfortable. This is a family owned business and all were friendly and accommodating.

The room smelled like smoke, it was 19 out, no heater. Having a baby and daughter with bronchitis, this was not ideal. If it hadn't been so late we would have left town to find something else. Door was janky, Dude at check-in was lost had to call his boss to verify the reservation. We had to wait for someone to show up before we could, the guy was pretty rude... save your money and sleep in your car.
