Seminole Wind Ranch

What a lovely place! We have been twice now with a few different friends and we will definitely be back again. Shaded parking and picnic tables, shaded paddocks for the horses with shelters and nice clean restrooms. The lake is awesome, we haven't even tried out the trails yet (too hot 🥵) but we'll check them out this fall! Update: we tried the trails out and they were great! Lots of shade and they is a restroom at the trailhead.

Just spent four nights at this beautiful piece of property in Central Florida. We did not have a horse, but saw several other campers that did and looks like a perfect place for that. Our site faced the lake. Had cows wandering through most mornings and the serenade of Sandhill cranes.

If you are a horse lover, have a travel camper, and are looking for a place to travel to, this would be a good place for you. Google lists it as a “Camping farm.” Their website states that they are an “Equestrian campground located adjacent to the Seminole State Forest.” It can be a little tricky to find the entrance as it is a small sign off the south side of SR 44. Once you turn off the road it is pretty easy with the signage to figure out where it is. Our group went there to film a short video in the area near their common area. Most people we saw arriving drove with their Winnebagos and horse trailers and rented areas to let their horses have a rest and enjoy time out of the trailer with other like-minded people. This is a great place to go to ride your horse and camp for the weekend. The owners are great people and do guided rides. When they have events, you can buy tickets for whatever they are cooking. They also have a band show up for some events! Bring your cowboy hat and boots and prepare to have a great time around great people! Highly recommend this venue!
