Sebago's Crooked River Campground

Sebago’s Campground is hands-down one of the best places I’ve stayed, period. The setting is beautiful, quiet, and perfect for actually slowing down and enjoying life. But what really sets this place apart are the owners — they’re some of the friendliest, most welcoming people I’ve ever met, and they make you feel like you’re not just a guest, but part of the family. I came here to reconnect with my veteran brothers — guys I hadn’t seen in almost 30 years — and this was the perfect spot for it. Sitting around, swapping stories, laughing until our sides hurt, and just being able to relax together after all these years… that’s something money can’t buy. We didn't stay at this campground, although if I ever come to this region this is where I am going to camp. We only rented kayaks to go down the river to Sebago Lake sand bar. The kayak was solid and clean, and the process of renting was easy, efficient, and friendly. We were also allowed to use the changing rooms and shower at the campground, and that experience alone made me want to stay at the campground: clean, bright, roomy, and nice smelling of wood, like hotel. You literally forget that you are at a campground. It is about hour and 45 mins of kayaking to the sand bar and almost the same time back because there is very little current. And the sand bar itself was a lot of fun -- it is shallow and the bottom is very pleasant to walk on. Thank you, Brian!

I love coming here. The facilities are always super clean, which I really appreciate. Bathrooms, showers, everything is well taken care of. The setting is peaceful and relaxing. I love spending time by the river and the pool is such a nice bonus, especially on hot days. It’s also in a great location. There are plenty of stores, restaurants, and things to do just a short drive away, but once you’re at the campground, it feels like a little escape. I always look forward to my next stay. I'm already counting down the days until I’m back.

What a nice place to kayak! I called and asked to rent a tandem. The owner Brian was super nice and helpful and took us down to the launch area etc. and it’s great as they allow dogs in the rental kayaks. The place is very clean and quiet. The river is very calm too which makes for an easy paddle day. And the place where we launched was beautiful and inviting. Make this campground a must if you want to camp and paddle the Crooked River!

We live 30 mins from Crooked River Campground. I googled where to rent a kayak, and this lovely place popped up, so we decided to give it a try. I am so happy we did! As soon as we got there I called the number and Brian explained what we needed to do. We met him down by the river and he could not have been more polite and accommodating. He made the process so simple and stress free. We were 2 adults and 2 kids so we rented 2 double kayaks. The whole process took less than 5 minutes and we were heading down the Crooked river. The paddling was easy and the views were just so beautiful! It took us a little over and hour to get to the locks where we were able to stop and eat lunch at a picnic table.
