Scatter Creek Campground

A nice place to stop and use the bathroom before going to your final destination. The fishing nearby is also good, especially in the evening. Personally this isn't where I'd spend the night, too many people around during the summer months.

So far, this has been the best off grid camping. It's so exhilarating to be outdoors.

Just went camping at Salmon La Sac June 21st 2020. Took the 10 mile drive up into the back country and it was amazing. Yes the road is rugged and bumpy however it’s a forest service road not a maintained highway. The views along the river and the towering mountains were incredible. Lots of snow up top with waterfalls coming down. Just past this area got to drive through a creek across the road and some large lake size puddles. Lots of fun. How anyone can complain about such an incredibly beautiful mountainous area is beyond me. Look around at the flowers, the river and an area less frequented by the mass population. I hope to go back soon!

Amazing. Plan to go back many times. Free camping. Gravel pack road with rumble strips at many sections.
