Roughrider Motor Inn

I travel for work and stay at many hotels. I wasn’t expecting much but was pleasantly surprised with the Roughrider Motor Inn. Simple, clean, they seem to do the important things right. The property is older but well taken care of. Family type business. Would stay here again no question. 5 stars for the heater switch in the bathroom. Awesome.

Don't. Just don't. The old man that runs this place is trying to make a million off of weekly guests. Nothing in this place warrants $600 a week. Small rooms. No microwave. Fridge is dripping water. Towels in water closet, yes closet, are marked "rags" and have the stains to prove it. Internet is less than 11mb/s. Tag on A/C says it was cleaned in '11. Charged me twice for the room.

Spent 3 days at this nice local motel for a family reunion. Rooms are reasonable size, beds are good, the place is kept nice and clean. Appreciated the fridge in the rooms! Nice to have a place to store food and cold drinks. The owner and staff did a great job, even welcoming us on the lighted sign out front. Thanks, folks!

No microwaves in the room, have to walk to end of hallway where 1 microwave is located. The beds are uncomfortable and I could easily hear conversations through the walls. Rude customer service, I'm assuming it was the owner. I asked about wifi and he threw a piece of paper down on the counter with the password on it. He did not say a word to me and did not respond when I said thank you. Good hot water and water pressure, AC worked and TVs upgraded to flat panels. Sheets were clean.

Check in took about 10 minutes. Everything is done manually. The outside is nothing to look at, but we called over 40 motels before finding a room. They tell us that all the rooms in the state are taken by oil men. The room did not include breakfast, an in room fridge or microwave, but the rooms and bathrooms are clean, the beds comfortable, and the price was well down in the double digits for four in a room. The hotel has meeting rooms, but we did not see them. We arrived very late and did not even check to see if there was internet service. We wish there was an easier way to find these kinds of accommodations on the internet.
