Great campground on the river. Floated the river and hung out in the river by the campground, it was a blast The owners are great people that made our stay enjoyable.
May 23-26 2025 Riverpond Campground 2nd time tent camping here. The grass was cut last time. Grass is very overgrown (they said that they were letting the grass go to seed to hopefully get the grass to thicken naturally) there are huge thorns that poke through the soles of your sneakers, the MOSQUITOS were out in ABUNDANCE (SWARMS of them and we had a ton a spray, mosquito repelling candles, and other things and STILL got eaten), port-o-potties, and had a few neighboring campers that played loud music into the night. Wish they had stopped by the loud people to ask them to respect the quiet hours. Starlight theater is next door. Listened to the the play more than once because it is right there. I didn't mind that. Important note: It is $4 extra for each person over 4 people, though the webs
We loved our time at Riverpond. George the Owner is a precious man and really looks out for the ladies camping on their own. Our time by the river was great and so close to starlight mtn theater. We sat with chairs in the river for wonderful R&R. ||There is no sewer hookups and no water at the site but there is a place to fill up . They do have electric at some of the sites. Only porta potty and one pit toilet, no showers. ||Walking distance to village of Crouch . Our time has always been wonderful as long as you know what to expect.
This was an interesting camping experience. We stayed at r 5 on the river. We arrived around 7 and the mosquitoes were killing us during set up. Bring good repellent! The bathroom is clean and there is water available. The river is beautiful and there is a hill also that is pretty. There is a local theater that backs up on to this site. You can hear the whole performance and they also rehearse during the day. We enjoyed it as it was the sound of music but if you are not a musical theatre person and are looking for quiet. This is not the spot.
There is no way we would stay there. We spent the money and reserved two nights. We drove in and right back out. It was overgrown, junky, and run down and felt abandoned. A lady came out and told us where our site was but it all felt super sketchy and very unsafe. We were the only campers there.
