Deadwood Campground

This year I was surprised by the devastation that the last year forest fires did to this magnificent place. But still it is one of my favorite places to go camping and play in the water surrounded by the magical beauty of its surroundings.

This is a nice little campground for quick getaways. I can have a campfire, the bathroom is always clean. You are right next to the river and a short drive to hot springs. I especially like going down to the river, sitting on a big rock there enjoying the river and the trees, and watching river raft groups and kayakers launching off down the river.

Pretty good campground. I think there are only about 6 sites, two of which are doubles. It's right next to the road, but traffic really tapers off to nothing around 9 PM. The outhouse rarely has TP because all of the river rafters that put in across the street use it before launching. The Deadwood River runs along the back of the camp and the Payette River is right across the street. Pretty fair fishing.

Great place for a 1-2 night camping spot. One advantage to this spot is that it is right by the highway but that also means that night and day you can hear and see the cars, but if something goes wrong its nice to know that grabbing a ride to town is easy. There is a spot down by the river that you can only barely see the road and the sound of the river blocks any other sound which is very nice. There is also hiking here which is fun to do

Great small campground that fills up fast. The trail is easy-moderate in difficulty. The campground has vault toilets and spigot water available. Also, if you like watching rafting companies launch with wide-eyed customers, that's right across the road. :)
