River Village Two

Downgraded to the unit due to overbooking. Second trip in a row Wyndham did not have correct unit available. 4th of July and people in other units were setting off fire works 10 feet from my car and down the center of the road. Took security 20 mins to show up. Car was covered with ash. Been RCI member for 30 years. It has gone downhill since combining with Wyndham.

The rooms were nice. We did have some ants in our unit though not too bad. The upstairs was fairly warm in the evening for sleeping. It was July and hot and humid weather. Not too close to the pool or rec center. You must have a car to get around within the resort. Walking paths would be helpful, or a shuttle.

Staff was great. Place was nice. Ants weren't a surprise, but the amount of them (20-40 each day) was, considering no food was ever left out. (We kept everything in the oven & microwave). Only real issue was, the website stated wood burning fireplaces. I then brought 2 bundles of logs plus kindling from NJ only to find a note on the fp saying they were inoperable until future renovation. This should be on the website.

This was a great area, although I do wish people didn't tell me I could've gotten my kid in a stroller and walked to the recreation area because it's only driving distance. But it was beautiful and there was another pool no one mentioned back there but when we tried around 7pm it was closed. (This is summer time)

It's my first time here, and checking in was quick. Dollar General was nearby, I got the items I needed instead of going to Walmart, which is 10 min further. Accommodations were clean and well kept.
