River View Garden Resort

The location is wonderful, but the rooms and service are terrible. We boot for 3 people and the room had towels for 2, 2 coffee cups, no filters that are needed for their coffee maker. Jay, the manager acted as if we were being unreasonable when we asked for the missing items as well as for soap in the liquid soap container. Pretty weird that there was an empty container when we arrived. My advice: stay somewhere else as this is a complete ripoff.

Wish they would have honored a refund as I was promise, I also would have taken 1 night stay as I believe the other rooms have been redone (according to Jay), I do not like giving bad reviews. Jay was super nice, but the room was sub standard to say the least.|The back stairs put me off a bit, the patio (not the one pictured), was ok and the room decor was pretty eclectic. So meh...ok we had a place to sleep. Had to drop our luggage off and get the the BBQ In Rio Nido to meet up with family. Got in late and went straight to bed. The refrigerator made so much racket it was hard to get and stay asleep. Got up to shower and meet the family again, but the shower had black mold in the bottom...so no shower for me. DO NOT STAY HERE! Absolutely disgusting, dirty. I booked this room for a work trip and was unable to check in. The manager, Jay, called me before my check in date to tell me the check in instructions which was that he was just going to leave the key in the door of room 17?? When I arrived, there was no key in the door to room 17, the office was closed, nobody answered the door. The hotel itself is very run down and depressing. I ended up having to drive an hour back to Santa Rosa to book a room at a different hotel. I was told by my supervisor to contact the hotel for a refund and JAY was extremely rude and disrespectful and told me that it was my fault I was unable to check in. First off, the two queen beds that we paid top dollar for ended up being one queen bed downstairs and another air mattress on the floor three flights up. The place was very old (I can handle that) but it was dirty with cob webs and rotting wood throughout the room. Ant invasion in the kitchen when no food in sight! Needless to say we paid for the kitchenette and never used it. The outdoor sitting chairs they provide were covered in bird waste and looked like they had never cleaned them. The room was right next to the road so very loud (I can handle that if all else was good). We called the front office the day we got there and shocker they never called us back. SOLO WOMAN TRAVELERS BEWARE. The owner, who goes by Jay, is unprofessional and creepy. He constantly asked me if I had a boyfriend and when my other guests will be arriving. He then made a remark about wanting to be friends. After my stay, he asked if the phone number I had on my booking was my actual phone number. The entire interaction made me very uncomfortable. As others have mentioned, the place is not maintained. It is not worth the $100+ a night. The property sits on a beautiful view and access of the river.
