Highland Dell Lodge

Booked this place on a whim. So thankful I did. What an amazing find. Ambiance is wonderful. The manager/bartender is amazing. Had a delightful evening spending time talking with him. Food was amazing. Highly recommend spending time here. You won’t regret it.

Hidden gem! Loved our stay in this beautiful historic hotel with bar and restaurant. Food, drink and hospitality with German flair were excellent! Both schnitzels were devine.

Spent one night at Highland Dell Lodge and enjoyed it very much. Had a room overlooking the Russian River. Room was quite small but very clean, attractive and well arranged. Decor was updated, bed was comfortable and everything else was well positioned and functional, so the size of the room wasn’t a problem. The German food was delicious, all of it. We enjoyed our dinner on the outside deck before sunset and overlooking the river. It was so pretty there, surrounded by beautiful trees.

This review is for Sarah’s kitchen only. The food was fantastic! One of the best mushroom soups I’ve ever tried. Carrot cake was also delicious. I don’t really like carrot cakes in general, but this one was the first I’ve ever finished. Hot Apple cider a must try as well! Highly recommend visiting

Superb location in quiet Monte Rio. A short distance away from slightly busier Guerneville and the delightful Duncan’s Mills. Very pleasant staff and a nice clean room, with spectacular views of the river from our balcony room. Simple breakfast but more than expected.
