Rio Frio RV Park and Campground

We had an amazing stay at Rio Frio Campground! Carlos and Steve were incredibly friendly and helpful — they made us feel welcomed from the moment we arrived. We stayed for two nights and the river was absolutely beautiful. The campground was peaceful, we had our site to ourselves, and everyone was so accommodating. We would definitely come back and stay longer next time. Highly recommend! 🌿⛺️💙

One of the best camping experiences we’ve ever had! My husband, friends, and I were genuinely blown away by both the beauty of the property and the kindness of the host, Carlos. He’s one of those rare people who instantly make you feel welcome — warm, thoughtful, and so genuine. We had some heartfelt conversations with him that really stayed with us, and honestly, we’d go back just for his company alone. The property itself is incredibly peaceful — quiet, surrounded by nature, and mountain. It felt like a place where time slows down. Such a wonderful campsite — peaceful, low-key, and with plenty of space between sites so our kids could truly run around and play. The river access at Rock Island is absolutely gorgeous, and we already can’t wait to come back in the summer to swim! Carlos was incredibly accommodating and went above and beyond to make our stay special — he even made our kids pancakes on the morning we left. An unforgettable experience!

Had a relaxing stay Rio Frio RV Campground! If you're looking for a campground that feels like a nature retreat rather than a parking lot, this is the place. We especially loved the amazing access to the river. The campground is perfect for nature lovers, with incredible stargazing at night and tons of opportunities for bird watching and enjoying the many butterflies and hummingbirds. They had some fun yard games and a covered patio with a bathhouse. Our site had full hookups, and the host was awesome. Upgrades to enhance the camping experience are in the works, and can’t wait to see the changes. We will definitely be back!

This place is fantastic. It's right next to the drop off spot on the Frio River. You can walk to it or park right at the entrance and drop your tunes in to enjoy a day floating down the river. Or just hangout in the river by the parking and set up your grill and chairs and make a day of it. Carlos was very accommodating and even picked us up down the river. If you get out at Happy Hollow they only charge you $5 to access their property. I'll definitely be going back there as soon as I can.
