Ridge Motel

My family and I have been coming to the ridge for years and years. We have a family reunion every 4th of July and Christmas. The previous owners were so nice, kind, and understanding. In 2023, my sister contacted Expedia to cancel the reservation due to illness. Expedia contacted the owner/manager and he refused to cancel. He lied when they called him directly and said that Expedia said no, they called Expedia back and they allowed them to listen to the recorded call which he clearly stated, “no” to the refund. Same thing happened Friday, I had car trouble on the way and had to turn around and come back home. Room/office smelled terrible with ungodly scents. Showers covered in mold. Beds were uncomfortable and pillows were tiny. Very little sleep and had to reposition myself every 30 min to keep from hurting by back. I think spending the night reclined in my truck would have been more comfortable.

Positive: Clean room Negative: Check in attendant was rude and condesending

We walked in the room and my wife had an allergic reaction I’m guessing to the overpowering smell of the cleaning product or maybe it was the smell of sewer that was also present. The owner wouldn’t let us look into another room. We weren’t there 15 minutes. I told him we couldn’t stay there and so I asked him for at least a discount and he copped an attitude and the owner replied it was my wife’s problem not his. All I did was asked for a discount because we didn’t even unpack and as we spent all our extra money on the room and still had to find a place to stay. The owner or, manager, is a jerk.

Got tired on the road and made an unplanned stop here. Front desk staff were very nice and friendly. Room was priced well, very clean, quiet and fresh. I slept comfortably and very heavy 9 hours uninterrupted.
