Rideout's Lodge & Cottages

This is an absolute gem of a getaway. Stan and Patty and their staff were superb in their hospitality. You could see the endearment from other returning patrons and their attention to details, ensuring our notoriously picky eating kids didn't leave the dining room hungry, despite us having brought backup easy meals in the cabin. We were astonished to see how hard Stan and Patty work to ensure the comfort of their guests, from cleaning the cabins daily, to changing out linens, to fuelling up and servicing the rental boats, and still having time to make delicious meals, among many other unseen duties I'm sure. This was our most relaxing vacation we've ever had as a family and we look forward to being return guests.

Rideouts is a hidden gem with owners and hosts, Stan and Patti, treating their guests like family bending over backwards to ensure everyone has a great experience. There is something for everyone whether fishing or a family vacation with some swimming, kayaking, relaxing lakeside, a card game or ping pong next to the TV room. The cabins are spotless, a pontoon boat, fishing boats, and kayaks are available for rent right on the property! This has something for everyone!

I know that I can speak for all 8 of the guys in our group when I say that we had a great time at Rideout's Lodge. This is our second straight year going up in mid-May, and each time has been a blast. Patty and Stan are fantastic hosts, and they do everything in their power to make your stay enjoyable. Their new hire, Ashlynn, is super nice and a great addition to the team. We stay in the smaller cottages on the shoreline. They are not huge, but they are more than adequate. There are two or three beds (with very comfortable mattresses), a bathroom with shower, table and chairs, mini fridge and microwave, and a drip coffee maker. Being direct lakefront, you get a great breeze off the water and the sound of the waves lapping against the shore. These cabins do not have cooking facilities, so

Stan and Patty went out of their way to make sure our family had a great time. We have two kids, 3 and 9, both are extremely picky eaters and one with anxiety. Stan, Patty, and staff made sure our children had a time of their lives. None of us were hungry and none of us were bored. Patty wasn't going to let our kids go a day without eating so grilled cheese and hot dogs it was! And Stan spent extra time with my oldest to make sure he felt safe on the boats. Their staff always greeted us with a smile and accommodated every request we had. Bring your fishing poles, be prepared to sleep in cabins (not hotel rooms), and have lots of fun listening to the loons sing and the fish jump. This vacation was the most relaxing and worry free vacation my small family has ever had. We will be back.

The location and lake are absolutely stunning. My wife had been going there her entire childhood and we were starting the tradition of bringing our family up there and creating lifelong memories. Customer service was great from Stan. This was our 3rd year with our kids at this cabin and it will be the last. We brought our really good family friends with us to create memories with their family and immediately got treated like garbage. Our friends took a roll of paper towels out of the storage room (not knowing those weren’t for use) and Patty threatened, cursed and kicked our friends out. They went to the store to purchase them replacements and tried to apologize a million times but Patty wasn’t hearing it. Patty called my friends thieves and low life in front of their kids.
