This was an excellent campground. There were many trails all of them absolutely beautiful. The firing helped and it's very secluded with a small town. About 15 people nearby. There is no cell service And to be sureto bring all your own supplies. If you follow the Creek you will find trout. They're small but it's absolutely gorgeous. How do great time? I would recommend this place to anybody and everybody who goes camping

I will definitely have to come back to this little gem of a campsite. My friends and I all loved it. BTW, the caretaker are absolutely great.

Love this place and have visited multiple times. Just visited during Presidents Day, and despite multiple road closures, we decided to trust our instincts over the GPS and take the usual route. If we had followed the GPS, it would have sent us all the way up to Taft, only to loop back to a section where a chunk of the road is actually missing. As others have mentioned, you can still get there from the other side by driving on the shoulder. For the best route I highly recommend: • Going through Frazier Park • Turning left onto Lockwood Valley Rd • Entering Camp Scheideck Road into your GPS (it will be on your left) Your gps will constantly try to reroute you but the roads were clear. We made it to the camp ground without any issues despite being in a low clearance Volkswagen GTI. We g

Update: still perfect out there. Went in May and found the creek stocked with trout!! An absolutely gorgeous campground hidden in the mountains of nowhere lies this little gem. Been coming here for years and I must say the newer improvements such as a camp host has made all the difference. Respectful quiet hours are now implemented 10pm- 6am. The bathrooms are maintained and cleanly. Resources and local information is abundant with the host. Additionally the camp hasn't changed over the past 15 years. Plenty of water in the creek for fish to live. Clean water runs continuously. Reserved spots are not available. (Although i was lucky enough to snag one that was open mid-week.) The hiking trails are a true test to experience level, inviting all levels of expertise. Minimal rock climbing pot

4 day, 3 night solo camping trip in my pop up camper, with my dog on April 2, 2021. $10 a night with my America the Beautiful pass. Great campground out and away from everyone. You'll be about 40 minutes away from any store, so pack everything you're going to need for your time there, or expect to spend two hours for any trip you need to take. There is no water or electricity at the sites, however, there is a creek that runs along the campground and I filled up all the water I needed from this creek, and yes, I treated the water before I used it. The hosts we're really cool and always around for anything you need them for. They keep the campground very clean and they sell firewood there, $10 - $15 per bundle. It was fully booked the weekend I went but I was fortunate enough to get a first
