Relax Inn

We made a last minute reservation on our way from Austin to Brownwood because it was getting late on us. This place was VERY clean, everything worked in the room, it was quiet and we slept very well. The price was great also. The room stayed nice and cool.

My son and I hunt off a small, privately owned ranch in the Goldthwaite, TX area. There is a small, unheated, non-insulated one room cabin for our use on the ranch. The temperature on the days we were there to hunt on was about 15 degrees (5 degrees with the wind chill factor). There was no way we were going to try to stay overnight in the cabin, so I opted to stay at the Relax Inn instead. Plusses: it was warm and dry, and it had an indoor toilet. Minuses: meh, about everything else that civilized people expect in a motel. The manager was very courteous and thoughtful - we indicated we would arrive around 6:00-7:00 p.m., but we were delayed because we had to field dress our game - by that time, the temperature had dropped to 8 degrees. We’ve stayed at Relax Inn in Goldthwaite twice while working out of town, and both stays were great. The heater kept us warm in winter, the AC was cold in summer, towels were fresh, beds were comfy, and the owner was super nice. One time our job changed and we had to cancel late in the day — the owner was very understanding. Even got to play pool under the covered area before leaving. Great spot for work trips or passing through.

Had a great stay! The staff was friendly, and the room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. The location was convenient, and I enjoyed the quiet atmosphere. Stayed there during a business trip. Rooms are affordable. The people there gave great attention to detail when cleaning the rooms. They provide an outdoor kitchen. No issues at all.
