Great stay at Red Roof Inn – way better than I expected for the price! I travel a lot for work and usually expect the bare minimum from budget hotels, but the Red Roof Inn in Carteret really surprised me in the best way. • Check-in was fast and the front desk staff was genuinely friendly and helpful (huge shoutout to Ricky – he upgraded my room when he saw how much luggage I had). • Room was spotless: perfectly made beds, no weird smells, fresh towels, and the AC worked like a champ (a lifesaver in the summer heat). • Free Wi-Fi was actually fast enough to stream and get work done – rare at this price point! • Truly pet-friendly: brought my dog with no hassle and no surprise fees at checkout. • Perfect location right off the highway with tons of food options nearby (that 24-hour Mc
We were there at check in time but kept getting excuses that they did not have a room ready. They took two hours to finally assign us a room. They were very rude at the front desk. They were not busy with customers and there were few cars in the parking lot however we kept running into people that acted like it was an apartment building not a hotel. One lady with two grocery bags tried to get me to open the door w ith my key and was not happy when I told her to go to the front deck. Security in this situation was non existent. Also they put my $50 pet deposit through twice but only returned one $50. There was absolutely no damage to the room. We highly recommend not ever staying at this RedRoof Inn. There are others along the I95 highway. We usually stay at RedRoof with delightful servi
I enjoyed my stay overall. The hotel was comfortable and cozy. Gym was out of service, and there was no pizzeria or bar on site, but the front desk handled the few room issues I had smoothly. Plenty of parking, very clean rooms, and good security with cameras and occasional police presence.
I've stayed at thos Hotel many times and one cannot beat the price. The location is right across the river from NYC. THe bus takes you to the city in one quick stop from Across the street. NO NEED FOR A CAR. Across the street is everything you could need and good Chinese food delivered. The rooms are big, clean, and the Hot water seems limitless. The staff are very helpful when you need them. And Amazon and Walmart deliver here everyday. Whenever Im on NYC, I make this my home and you should too.
⭐ 1-Star Review (and that’s being generous) If you’re looking for a hotel that smells like regret, bad decisions, and an open sewer congratulations, you’ve found it! When we arrived, the front entrance was lit up with police cars and an ambulance. I called the front desk, concerned, and they acted like I was the problem for asking. Definitely not the “warm welcome” I had in mind. There are no elevators, which is fun if you’re training for Mount Everest, but not when you’ve got a 70-year-old grandmother with you. When I asked for help, the staff just shrugged and said, “Use the stairs.” Truly inspiring customer service. The room? A masterpiece in mediocrity. The tub had a yellow ring so bold it deserves its own color swatch, and the shower looked like it hadn’t seen a real cleaning since 20
