Good place to stay

We stayed at the Red Roof Inn as a family (my wife, our daughter, and myself), and overall we had a very good experience. The hotel is clean, quiet, and recently updated, which made our stay comfortable. The room felt well-maintained and the price was very affordable compared to other options in the area. A couple of minor downsides: the in-room heating and cooling was tough to get just right — it always felt either too hot or too cold. And while they do offer breakfast, it was pretty limited: mostly pre-packaged items like banana bread, granola bars, juice, etc. Nothing hot or fresh. Still, for the cleanliness, the quiet atmosphere, and the cost, it’s a great value. We’d definitely consider staying here again for a budget-friendly trip.

Positive: great location, right downtown Negative: beds were average in comfort, not enough pillows, handicap accessible shower allows water to cover half the bathroom floor as it doesn't drain off very well. Free breakfast was only snacks. A disappointment as I paid extra to get the optional breakfast

Bathrooms locked on 1st floor due to street walkers entering bldg; local business advised us this is a facility with large numer of homeless individuals; long-term "tenants" with very large dogs, i.e. huge German Shepards; the fire control panel WAS NOT OPERABLE OR HOOKED UP, WASNT TAGGED BY FIRE MARSHAL FIR INSPECTION, FIRE DOORS ALL PROPPED OPEN WITH THR EXPLANATION THAT "HANDICAPPED PEOPLE IN WHEELCHAIRS CAN'T OPRN HEAVY DOORS; RECEPTIONIST ADVISED THEY DO "safely fire walls interior & exterior every 30 minutes" and proceeded to show us the "report", but it was blank - NO DATES, MO TIMES, NO SIGNATURES!!! NO SAFETY MEASURES IN PLACE!!! we requested full refund & canceled our reservation. Safety & fire trap!!

I stay at hotels frequently, and after a disappointing experience at a nearby Hilton property where I was charged nearly $200 a night (including a $75 pet fee for my ESA), finding this hotel was a total game-changer. This property is nicer, cleaner, and the staff is on a completely different level of professionalism. Eileen made check-in seamless and gave me fantastic local tips on dining and attractions, even pointing out the helpful brochures in the lobby. I also want to give a huge thank you to Abby—I felt bad walking across the floors she was mopping, but her dedication to keeping the lobby spotless despite the storm salt outside didn't go unnoticed!
