Red Roof Inn Hartford - Vernon

If you don’t listen to any reviews at least listen to THIS one. DON’T TRUST THE 4 & 5 STAR REVIEWS‼️ This place is VERY nasty & unsanitary. Was placed here during the cold weather protocol but a roach crawled on the bed around 12AM before I fell asleep. When we brought our concerns up to the front desk, the front desk was dismissive and unprofessional. Instead of focusing on the issue, a staff member told us to not leave a bad review NOT the fact there were ROACHES in the room. PLEASE FOR YOUR OWN SAKE DO NOT STAY HERE ‼️‼️ DO NOT BRING YOUR CHILDREN HERE OR PETS AND MOST IMPORTANTLY DO NOT BRING ANY BAGS. ROACHES WILL COME OUT WHEN YOU WIND DOWN FOR THE NIGHT. THE ROACH WAS BIG LIKE IT HAS A FOOD SOURCE ‼️‼️

Positives: Room was clean, no bugs. All linens bright white, so easy to check for evidence of any bugs. Plenty of big fluffy pillows, fluffy comforter, comfortable mattress (cushy top, not hard). Good water pressure & temperature in shower. Room had small fridge, no freezer (which was ok because freezers in those kind of small fridges tend to be useless anyway). Plenty of AC outlets AND USB ports in both the night stands & wall lamp fixtures. Big tv with good service, lots of channels. One-cup coffee maker in room. There was an ironing board & iron, but I didn't use it so I can't speak to its functionality. Liquid hand soap & lotion in dispensers on the wall by the sink, & similar body & hair shampoo dispensers in shower; this struck me as an excellent way for them to stop the waste of peo

Booked this hotel for family for the price. Did not read the reviews. The Lucy was under construction but that’s acceptable, therefore no amenities like snakes or drinks in lobby. Room simple and looked clean. Alerted to reviews of bed bug problem and of course freaked out. Addressed it with front desk which was very friendly and they said the hotel was just inspected and if I found any she would give me a refund. I inspected both rooms I booked very carefully. Bedding was wrapped well in high quality mattress sack so easy to check. Everything looked new and clean. Checked chairs in rooms. Clean. Had no problem with these two first floor rooms. Overall they appear to be making the effort to upgrade the hotel. And the no fee for pet is a nice feature too. Coffee in morning, no food availabl

Positive: It was a disappointment, staff do their best but the place smells of cigarettes starting at reception area, lighting is poor and bedding were dirty and stained. A lot of improvements are required. The only good thing was the two staff memberslllll Negative: Because of the bad condition the hotel was in I canceled my stay and they refused to give me my refund. I am never going back and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

This hotel was easy to get to with a variety of dining options near by. The young lady behind the front desk was friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable and the furnishings has been recently updated. The renovations were still very much in progress and the breakfast area had no counters or seating, so there was no breakfast available during our stay. The room was clean, but there were some missing trim tiles in the bathroom and minor cosmetic repairs that were needed. The mini fridge did not have a freezer part, so I had to ask the front desk to put them in a freezer for me, which they happily did!
