Red Roof Inn Charleston - Dunbar

DO NOT STAY HERE. BED BUGS.|I reported bed bugs by phone on the evening of 12/20/2025 around 7:00 PM. I have documentation and have been calling throughout the day to report this pest infestation.|The front desk agent repeatedly hung up on me and refused to let me speak. He claimed my calls were “harassment” instead of addressing a serious public health concern.|This is unacceptable and unsafe. I was forced to contact the Health Department and the Better Business Bureau because the hotel refused to respond appropriately.|Save your money and your health. The hotel next door is higher quality and about $10 cheaper.|This experience was handled with complete disregard for guest safety.

Our power was out for over 24 hours, with overnight temperatures dropping below zero. We stayed here for a night and had a pleasant experience. The front desk staff was friendly, the room was clean, and we were especially grateful that they welcomed our pets. Reasonably priced too!

Positive: The lady at the front desk when I arrived, was exceptional! She made my check-in very pleasurable. Negative: The TV remote did not work. The receptionist tried to exchange it but none of the ones I was given worked. I had to leave it on the entire time I stayed.

Let’s start this by saying, no it is not the Hilton, Marriott, or IHG. But come on people, if you want a simple, quick, clean stop over, this is great for the PRICE!! This one does not have hot breakfast but at this price we never eat the sugar/carb processed bars at less expensive hotels. My rating is on value, cleanliness, and service. Most of our regular more expensive hotels have polite staff and more amenities. Dakota at the front desk was the friendliest greeting I have had for a while. He could easily work at a more expensive hotel but for tonight since we picked here for what I mentioned above I am glad he is here! Last note. We also picked this because although Moose, our boxer has travelled all over North America with us in my truck and our RV. This is his first hotel and he lo

5/5 stars! The Red Roof Inn was great, but Dakota at the front desk was the real MVP. He was super chill and made everything easy. Definitely the best service I’ve had in a minute.
