Red Land Motel

If you stay here beware My review will continue to stay and will be updated Do not give them a credit card for any reason!!!..I have reported them for a fraudulent charge to my credit card just discovered a week ago. I have also reported them to the better business bureau...... The room was disgusting with urine stained mattresses and floors still being dried with fans when we entered the room....fire ant mounds 3 feet from the rooms front doors. Ants in the rooms and all over the sidewalks. My dog was attacked by ants and has thousands of bites all over his belly. Bad reaction, so bad he needed medical attention. I made my reservations with Damon and everything I asked for he responded to, he got us a small refrigerator and microwave for our room. Any time we needed anything he responded and he was very helpful and accommodating. I had read some of the reviews on line and was hesitant because of the reviews. They recently renovated and we were very pleased with our room. Yes it's an old motel with old bathroom fixtures but everything was very clean and new carpeting. I think we had room # 118 and it was decorated with a beach theme. Wall unit AC/Heat kept us very comfortable, it's on the main road but we never heard the traffic and the beds were great, slept like a baby. Stayed here for 3 nights. Was pleasantly surprised. Rooms clean, well presented. Staff very friendly. We met the owner, management and housekeepers. All very friendly. I think if I was visiting in the summer with some friends, we would have a blast. Having a pool, grill/bbq and a good area to sit out is a bonus. Plenty of options for places to eat. From good southern sausage and biscuits to a French restaurant with a French chef. |We are British and we think this is a great place to stay. |Well priced. Thank you all

It may not be new, have the glim or glitter, but if you can appreciate old world charm, it is great. The owners have decorated with items that make the room comfy. The rooms are clean, staff is friendly and accommodating and the rates are very reasonable. Will recommend this motel to anyone who asks and I plan to visit again in the future.

I went to an open house at the hotel to check it out before I recommended it to my family and friends. I felt the towels, checked the bathrooms, sat on the mattresses to be sure it wasn't just looks. I knew this place back in the 1970s and the NEW AND IMPROVED Red Land is delightful! Please don't take just the negative comments. I am not a friend of the owner, nor of anyone who works there. It was obvious to me that they have worked very hard and I want this cool, retro motel to succeed!
