Red Carpet Inn & Suites Monmouth Junction, NJ

We like the Red Carpet. The hotel is very clean. The staff is terrific. The young man who helped us to book our reservation and helped us to check in was was very helpful and considerate. The public area and our room were, as I said, very clean (and quiet).

Decent location but cleanliness is an issue. Room wasn’t clean enough. They give only one key card (first time we encountered that). Room was spacious, including the bathroom. But jetted tub in the main room is super weird. The service was fine except that when I asked for a garbage bag for putting our used clothes, the guy handed me a small plastic grocery bag. We didn’t do breakfast but limited options and things weren’t getting replenished. Manageable for one night stay but not recommended otherwise.

We saw some reviews mentioning issues with room cleaning, but we honestly found everything clean and comfortable. The location is perfect — conveniently situated on the route from Philadelphia to New York City. We particularly appreciated the service, especially during breakfast. The staff were attentive, constantly checking the food and drinks and refilling them immediately when needed. It’s a small detail, but we really valued their care and attention. Breakfast was good — definitely better than most motels.

I’m not sure if this is the first time I do a review but I have to do it because I want to warn some people about it. Overall, our stay was ok except for the fact that the room and the bathroom are dirty. The rooms smells like humidity, maybe even period blood? Or fish? I don’t know, it was just bad. The bedsheets look like they don’t change them, there were so many hairs in all the beds (from the first room we got, to the second room we stayed in). Hairs in the bathroom, the curtains smelled bad too, and the floor looked dark as if they just passed a little wipe on top of it to clean it and that’s it. Bad location away from every thing. The nearest Train station is New Brunswick that is 10 miles away. With rental car or your own no oroblem, but with Uber it is expensive for round trip. The breakfast is limited consists of: some cheap cereal, banana, cafe, cream cheese, one inch orange juice at the bottom of the juice dispenser, and only white bread and bagel. However it is cheaper than other alternatives if budget is a concern. They don't shovel the snow after the snow or freezing rain.
