Ramada by Wyndham Rockaway

I only intended to stay here for one night, but my foot was injured a few hours prior to my arrival and it caused a lot of pain for me. I had a limp, my foot swelled so it couldn’t fit in its shoe and my subsequent plans - a road trip to Oklahoma - were abandoned as I surrendered to defeat and recuperated in my room. The hotel staff was very kind and allowed me to extend my reservation by three or four days at a time as I patiently, but disappointedly, grimaced in my room while waiting for my foot to heal. My circumstances were quite unorthodox and I appreciate how understanding the staff was. The room is a decent size but reasonably basic. It’s a good deal for $60-70/night. The heating worked well, the bed was comfortable, hot water was constant and in abundance, there was hardly much

Positive: I loved the balcony Negative: I didn't like that they didn't have a microwave or a refrigerator. The day i was leaving the handyman was putting microwaves and refrigerators in the rooms.

Had to travel this way for a work assignment. The staff was so nice to me and gave me a room closest to the lobby. Absolutely beautiful. Loved LOVED the red chair and table. My favorite color. The bed was super comfortable and I slept better than anywhere lately when traveling. The pics on wall were very nice and calming. The first day I went for breakfast there was a large selection of items to choose. They even had yogurt that was healthy for people like me. Sitting there and seeing little flower arrangements at the table were so nice. It meant more to me than anyone realizes. And after a hard day at my job and trying to travel in the darkish time of afternoon and rush hour to be greeted by front desk agent actually caring about me as a person and asking how my workday

The price is reasonable for the area, the service is good, and the facilities are decent. I was assisted by Shyam, who provided professional service. I come from Baltimore, MD, and am here for work every two weeks. The only problem I had was that I once forgot two chargers for my two tablets. I called about two hours after checking out and asked if they could please keep them for me until my next visit. They said yes, but when I returned two weeks later, they said there was nothing there, and if there was anything, perhaps the cleaning staff had thrown them away. They should pay more attention to details like this.

It stuns me that this hotel is allowed to carry the Ramada name. It is well below the standards one expects of Ramada, barely above a no-tell motel.||The lobby smelled. Badly. |The room was threadbare at best, and not properly cleaned. |The light fixtures were dirty with cobwebs. There was a non-functional light. There was a dirty washcloth hanging on the shower curtain rod.||The desk had a large chunk missing out of the top and the the rest of it was scratched and gouged. The side chair was about the same. They look like dumpster finds.||The positive? The fellow at the counter was reasonably welcoming and the bed was comfortable.
