It was a nice hotel. Nice enough, I should say. The staff was very polite and helpful. I'm not a big fan of the bathrooms and showers. The showers have glass walk-ins with tricky knobs that turn on the water, and he really had to mess around to make sure they were completely off. It was also pretty slippery inside. But in terms of location, it was exactly what we needed, and it was only for a couple of days. I just prefer a hotel room with a carpet, and this one had hardwood floors.
I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It's a modern boutique hotel in a decent location in downtown Minneapolis. If you're coming from out of town for a Vikings game, this is where you want to stay. The hotel is only about 3 blocks from the US Bank stadium. Walkability rating is about a 6 or 7 as far as closeness to variety of dining and shopping. They have a pretty good bar/restaurant downstairs (but don't sleep in or think you'll be able to get a late night meal). There are a few bars and restaurants within 2-3 blocks and some others that are about a 15-20 minute walk. If you're visiting for site-seeing or going to a Timberwolves game, everything else is about 10-15 minutes away by car (depending on traffic of course). There is a mini fridge in the room (plus), but the microwave is shared by
Positive: Location. Relativity quite. Beds were nice. Daytime staff were friendly Negative: The room was very basic for the cost. The refrigerator was too small, the shower floor was so slick we had to put towels down to stand up (lacking hand holds). We were charged $2.80 for every bottle of water, which was used for coffee.
This is the last time I stay at a Radisson Red or any Radisson for that matter. First- they don't have enough parking for guests. So you have to park down the block and get the front desk to give you and in/out ticket to avoid paying $40/day for parking. Second- the first room I was in had a shower that leaked all night, a toilet that clogged at every flush, a broken thermostat and a bed so hard I woke up in excruciating pain. After 2 nights I begged to switch rooms and even told the staff all these issues. They sent me to a new room down the hall where at least the toilet flushes. The beds are miserably hard though. I paid to stay for the week I'm here working and I am nearly delirious from sleep deprivation. The staff are very kind and truly the only reason I'm giving a single star. This
