Queen Isabel Inn

This lovely old hotel has the best view on the bay! John and his staff were warm and welcoming. The cottage was cozy and very clean. It had every thing we needed to feel at home for the weekend. The bed was very comfortable. The a/c worked great. The pool area was lovely and the gazebo was the perfect place to end the day! We cannot wait to come back to visit.

What an amazing hotel! My girlfriend and I spent two amazing weeks here and I can't say enough about how great it was. The Queen Isabel Inn is an amazing historic property rich in history and South Texas culture. The rooms and property were immaculately clean, well kept and comfortable. The staff is second to none, friendly, helpful and attentive. The best part was that amazing view of the Laguna Madre! We frequent South Padre regularly really enjoyed the ability to hop on the causeway and be on the island in minutes without having to deal with the crowds and mess of staying there. We'll definitely be back soon.

Very clean and hospitable environment. The area is quiet and full of options for breakfast, lunch and dinner, not to mention its convenient proximity to the island’s bridge in case you want to spend your days at the beach. The resort has a lot to offer and it’s a shame we didn’t get a chance to fully take advantage of the amenities. I recommend staying in one of the cottages if you’re looking for a cozy room to get away with the spouse or significant other on a relaxing weekend. The hosts are very friendly and eager to assist anyone from out of the area, so don’t be shy if you’re from out of state/country. This was my second stay at this beautiful and historic hotel. The views of the the bay and the pool were amazing. This historic hotel has been very well maintained. It’s owner and staff are very committed to making your stay a great one. The rooms are spacious and have a kitchen for making meals. There are so many historic sites, shopping, and restrunts within walking distance from the hotel. The nearby causeway takes you right to the island. I highly recommend this hotel.

We were planning a visit to my 86 year old parents and my mother identified the Inn not too far from the retirement village where they were spending 2 months. She was struck that the first person she met on the property seemed unfamiliar with the idea of having hotel guests. Fortunately, he directed her to his wife, who confirmed they did have rooms and at a reasonable rate. When my wife called to make reservations, she also had the impression that they were surprised anyone would want to come and stay with them. This made us a little nervous - was this just a front for smuggling contraband into the country? - but the location was great and price reasonable so we made a reservation and vowed to keep our eyes out for criminal elements. ||||We had no reason to worry.
