Expensive raccoon-infested sloped sites. If you have a tent, or if you're from out of state, or if you don't love sharing with raccoons, look somewhere else. Most of the non-electric sites aren't level and are very open, with no trees separating the sites (some had trees behind the site, some didn't). Non-resident fees are ridiculous. Extra $15 per night, plus $16/day for your vehicle pass. (Maybe they don't like tourists??) Raccoons were the worst I've ever seen in a state park. They were climbing onto the picnic table even when I was standing right next to it trying to fend them off with a toasting fork. The pros are that the scenery is nice, and the sites do all have fire rings and picnic tables. I didn't make much use of any other facilities. I did not have a relaxing stay, and I fe
We stayed 2 nites at Campsite 62E. It had electricity and was very close to the showers and bathrooms. The site was partially shaded and had a slight pitch where the camper is parked. Easy in and out. The North shore of the lake is nice and close. We would get that site again. The showers worked great amd the bathrooms were clean. Great experience all the way around. Just be aware that there is very little cell reception in the park.
Easy check in, clearly marked sites. Lots of space per campsite. Sites all have a picnic table, fire pit with bbq rack, and this site has electric. Bathrooms were a short walk and well maintained. Showers are small with a push button, it runs for a few minutes but the one I used had good water pressure and was hot enough. This is a pretty wide open area, not many trees for shade or privacy.
We stayed at site #45 and struggled to get our trailer leveled properly. I have never experienced such a significant grade and slope at a campsite. The electric hookup was also on the wrong side, so instead of backing in as I do at every other campsite in existence, I had to pull forward and drive over literal boulders placed at the end of the site. Also be aware that parking is expensive. $16 daily or an annual pass for $40. However, after getting through this initial hurdle, I'm pleased to say that the campground is well maintained and we had no other issues. Devil's Lake was beautiful and we would return, but definitely research your campsite before booking, many of them looked to have similar issues with grading and leveling.
I did not give this camp site a 5 because we have the worst campsite in Quartzite, 25E. It is a mess, has a big rain caused ravine going across the campsite and is so un level we worked almost 45 Minutes trying to level our camper. When looking at the camper it looks like it is ready to fall over. The bathrooms are very clean and campsites are well spaced apart. They should close site 25E down though.
