Quality Inn & Suites Salem near I-57

Stayed in this hotel, there are Lady bugs and stink bugs all over the room, crawling on my bag and walls. They obviously don’t do exterminations or seal properly, there are dead lady bugs under every night stand and air conditioner, I’m just glad it was only those types of bugs. I did a full inspection of my mattress and saw no signs on bedbugs so that’s good. But unless you wanna take home a few Lady bugs or stink bugs. I’d probably keep driving.

We spent the first 45 minutes with management in our room trying to get both tvs working while we had guests. The main tv worked for about an hour then we just gave up. I went down to the front desk around 8pm as we needed a couple more pillows. The front desk person acted like this was out of the ordinary, and wasn't sure if they had more and brought me two pillows from the area behind the front desk where I could see a dirty mop and bucket. One pillow felt like a handful of cotton balls were in it and that was all. The other was dirty with yellow stains. I finally requested they go into a vacant room and get us two clean pillows. The room was vacant but when the front desk person opened the door it smelled like a college bar. It made me question if the pillows were clean, but he said th

This hotel is an embarrassment to Choice hotels. The carpeting in the common areas and my room were heavily stained. There were multiple places in my room where the flooring or walls were damaged. Our sheets had a stain right at the top of the sheet where our pillows were so housekeeping didn’t even try to hide it. There was also hair on the sheets. The sofa was extremely worn and stained. The walls were full of marks or splattered paint stains. I worked in the hotel industry for 15 years and have never seen a hotel in such terrible condition. I also did not get my points. They even charged us a pet fee but honestly my animals could have peed on everything and it wouldn’t have made a difference.

Positive: Bed was comfortable Negative: Water Faucet in the sink was broke. Shower was filled with black mold and not clean. Hotel only gave us two towels for two people. Should have been more towels.

Ladybug infestation. The security lock was busted off the door. The outlet plates were missing. The grout was missing from the bathroom floor. Only 2 sets of towels in a 4 person room, and a 4 person reservation. Pillows were tiny and substandard. Heater had an error code. No screens on the windows which opened fully and easily (I had 2 children with me). Breakfast was subpar. Hallways and stairwells were unclean. Hallway ceilings had watermarks.
