Quality Inn Rhinelander

There is no elevator!!! Request a first-floor room if you’re traveling with family or have a lot of luggage. The property feels very run down and dated, and the rooms look like they were cheaply remodeled. The heat/AC unit was extremely loud and inconsistent. The pool also appeared dirty with visible buildup in the corners and along the walls, and the hot tub was out of order again, just like during my previous stay. Honestly, it’s worth spending the extra $30–$50 to stay somewhere better, like the Holiday Inn Express or across the street at Cobblestone.

The hotel is old and only partially remodeled and the quality of the remodel is not great. There are still the old tub fixtures and rusty overhead lights. Attention was not paid to detail. Granted this is a cheap hotel and a better upgrade would have driven costs up but the hotel is not great. The staff was very good however. No complaints there.

We will start with the lobby. The lobby was a great room, very pleasant and nicely appointed. The staff Nicki was fantastic, staff after her shift were lousy. They wouldn't talk, would just grunt and mostly ignored you. The pass keys did not work to get in from outside to inside, because the doors were rusted shut and very hard to open. Once inside the hallways smelled very musty and once into the room there was a very moldy smell which triggers my wife's asthma. The room was not cleaned very well, stains on the chair seats, used coffee pod was left in the coffee maker. In the bathroom the shower curtain was dirty (brown marks), used toilet paper, partial box of Kleenex. Its a nice hotel, but not well maintained. The sidewalks are cracked and sort of patched. But my husband did have trouble and fell. Upon entering the ice machine was out of order. We booked a 11 night stay, so the on sight laundry was a selling point as well as the hot tub was, because we were there to snowmobile, and with my bad hip I looked forward to it for after rides. There is only 1 washer and 1 dryer. The washer was out of order. I went to use the hot tub, it was not working. I asked about them. They told me they were waiting for parts for the washer, so that wasn't going to be available for me. They told me the hot tub has been off for maybe a year and that it wasn't supposed to be listed. Rooms need serious cleaning and updated beds. The beds were like sleeping on rocks. The pillows need to be burned. No hot tub but online says you have it. The sauna was a dry sauna. All the exit/entrances didn’t have salt buckets for the icy sidewalks. Front desk in morning said maintenance won’t be there till 9am to salt? We had to walk very carefully down a long side walk to get to the truck and pray we didn’t fall. There should have been salt buckets or your front desk should also have access to this as well. Your game room had most of the game’s malfunctioning and not getting prizes that were won because they were stuck in the box. A lot needs to be done here. I most definitely will not come back here again. You got one star because the front desk last was very nice.
