Quality Inn Oacoma - Chamberlain

We were travelling from Sioux Falls to Rapid City when our minivan conked out - with our 3 year old grandson with and during the first really bad weather of the season - 10 degrees and 60+mph winds. Even though they'd had several people call out due to the weather, they had 2 rooms available for us on the first floor at 1:30pm. We found our king size bed very comfortable and the pillows were even comfortable (I'm super pick so that was a nice bonus!). The front desk lady was very nice and helpful. Breakfast was pretty standard - biscuits and gravy, waffles (including red velvet!!), various breads and cereals. But we enjoyed it all and will definitely stay here again!

The bed was comfortable. Hot water was great after it came. Room was clean. Toast and sausage gravy for breakfast with coffee and juices. A bit outdated but met our needs well.

Positive: I loved that the room temperature was appropriate for the weather. Not every motel has an air conditioned welcoming in the room assigned but this one did. It was very welcomed by us! Negative: No. This was a great place!

We’ve stayed here in the past, but it’s really starting to need an update. It’s looking quite old with walls banged up & the towels & bedspreads could use an update as well. Found a spider in a glass we had in the bathroom in the morning. Breakfast was less than desirable. The young man setting breakfast out must have gotten a late start, as lights weren’t on in the dining room, no waffle batter put out yet and everything was cold. Not very friendly.

We expected the refrigerator to work. We had items in our vehicle for a 3 day trip that needed the freezer to re-freeze our ice blocks. It was never working. It was turned on, but absolutely NO cooling OR Freezing. It was completely warm. Also, our morning breakfast meal was cold-to-lukewarm. NO excuse for that!!
