Customer Reviews
I stay here when they have availability. One needs to understand & appreciate older buildings to enjoy it here. It is an older place with lots of quirks. If you require modern conveniences, you may want to look elsewhere. The building has a very comforting feel & it's hard not to relax here. There is a central lounge area for gathering, complete with a piano. It's rarely available on weekends as they host various events - weddings, church groups, family reunions etc... the manager works elsewhere, but is super helpful & is onsite as needed. It's a 5 star for me, but I live in an historic district & like older homes.
we just came from a week of meetings at Providence Lodge. The setting in Lake Junaluska is just beautiful and the lodge is located in easy walk of the lake and the cross above the lake. The lodge itself is quite old. Floors slope, but it is comfortable. We stayed in the Deer room downstairs. The walls are paper thin, it seems, and most everything can be heard, there are no secrets.... There are even openings in the wall that help with sound. The bed wasn't very large for two people and pushed up against the wall, but it was comfortable and pillows were good. There is a nice dining area.
Cute, old style rustic inn with multiple rooms (some with personal bathrooms) and a dining area. Two pianos (this was very exciting for my sister and I), lots of mirrors, beautiful decor, and lots of areas to lounge around. The air was a little musty but that is what is expected of older, more rustic buildings. Went here for my and my family friends' graduation party and we all enjoyed staying here a lot.
This place is old and you can tell. Heat is either sauna or you freeze to death. The industrial kitchen needs a lot of love. Some of the rooms are cute and useable, some the bed is never because the subfloor is falling apart. The kitchen floor sinks in. The dining room has holes in the floor in places. All the chairs are falling apart and will break if you have a healthier sized person sitting on it. The place has charm and nice that you can get a lot of rooms for a family reunion like we did, but this place is ready to be demolished with how it’s kept up
We had to cancel our large wedding ceremony Due to Covid-19. We took our guest list down to immediate family only so we needed a place to stay. We found this place and it was absolutely amazing. The size, the great charm, the huge kitchen and even our wedding on the front porch! Anne was a great, courteous, helpful host. She was always there to help with any questions. I would highly recommend.
