Lambuth Inn

My experience could be roughly 1-2 stars. But, considering it’s an old building and a kind staff member checked us out, I went with 3 stars. The staff member listened to our complaints and made adjustments to our bill. I was expecting to pay for all planned nights based on the terms but was pleasantly surprised. It’s an old building, and only so much can be done compared to modern hotels. But it’s worth to take into consideration. I wasn’t too impressed with the room and less impressed with the spacing. Personally, I don’t feel like it’s worth the price you're being charged to stay here. The bathroom wasn't ventilated. The AC blew hot air at a certain point in the night when it cooled down outside. I think the Lambuth Inn is working toward renovation of all of their rooms and may be improving for most visitors, but over July 4th weekend, our stay was a little disappointing. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The hotel is historic, and the lobby area is beautiful in an old-fashioned, elegant way. The location is beautiful, in the middle of the Methodist Church Assembly area where there is a beautiful lake, swimming pool, tennis courts, walking path, etc. I don't think there is any dining in the hotel itself, but if not, there are nearby places to go for food.|For our stay, we were assigned an old, unrenovated room. • The parking lot in front is parallel parking, but there’s a regular, larger parking lot around the side. • The front desk staff have all been welcoming and open to conversation. We paid extra for a lake-view room but were given one in a corner with no view at all. When we brought this to the front desk’s attention, the staff member simply replied, “You booked through a third party—Hotels.com—so the property can’t guarantee the room. We have no other option for you.” We were quite disappointed by both the room assignment and the lack of effort to address our concern, especially given the premium we paid and our expectations for better service. We are also concerned about the apparent disconnect between the hotel and Hotels.com, as it leaves guests caught in the middle without accountability from either side. Unfortunately, based on this experience, we would not recommend this property to others.
