Principal Hotel Columbia

The hotel kind of has a retro look and feel, the staff was very helpful. They were very accommodating to our needs. The rooms were great. The main floor rooms had tall ceilings and the second floor where we stayed had 11 foot ceilings, which made the room that we stayed in appear absolutely huge! Everything smelled great and the entire place was super clean! There’s also a great restaurant attached to it where we had breakfast on Sunday morning, the service and food were excellent! The price was very reasonable and the hotel was very easy to get to. The next time we are in that area and we need lodging, this will be our base of operations. I Cannot recommend the Principle Hotel highly enough!

We travelled from out of state to come to a wedding here. When we arrived everyone was nice, with a very quick check in. Our room was very nice. Loved the look and bed was very comfortable. When we went to the bar the bartender made me the best espresso martini with a hint of rosemary. They were fun at the bar. We attended a wedding in the event center. Things were beautiful. Food was excellent. The cocktail hour they moved us to another unique space while they flipped the ceremony room to the reception. Loved the cozy cocktail hour with the fireplace. Pleased with the entire venue. The whole event center has such a great vibe. Clean and worth the drive.

We came for a family weekend and stayed for several days. Hotel is spotless, rooms are spacious and well decorated. Beds and pillows felt new and we were very comfortable. Highly recommend.|Having the Abbey across the parking lot was convenient to grab coffee. |Highly recommend.

We were really impressed on how an old school was converted into this amazing hotel. The rooms and decor include hints of the buildings scholastic roots. It was clean, quiet, and comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

This is a new, spotlessly clean boutique-y hotel with a school theme, as the building was previously a Catholic elementary school. The staff are warm and friendly, actually going the "extra mile" to be of service. My room was spotless. The TV was huge! The bed was very comfortable and the small-town quiet was heavenly. Continental breakfast is included. The hotel is very close to the I-255 bridge to south St. Louis County and so is truly convenient to anywhere in the vicinity. My only equivocal comment is for the restaurant. I did read reviews that mentioned choice grade meat at prime prices and this is true. I received some of what I thought was whipped butter with herbs along with hot bread. The bread was good but I would swear that the spread was margarine as it lacked the fresh
