Pottsville Hotel

I am here to say that my stay was exponentially better than I expected. I stayed the weekend of 11/8/25 in a single King, rm 215. This location was perfect and a only a block from my event destination and two miles from friends. I read the reviews and was desperate to stay anywhere else although after an Airbnb canceled on me the day before I was in a pinch. There are several other hotels within 6 miles although they had worse reviews. I'll start with the down side and get that out of the way and it's nothing terrible by any means and again especially for the cost. The building has no curb appeal and even though you have to park across the street it's a shorter walk than most Hotels I have stayed at. When I put the directions into my gps it stated that the hotel was rated as 2.8 out of 5. That is extremely over rated. The staff was very friendly and accommodating as are keys didn’t work on the second day. The rest was just plain awful. The carpets were stained, the bathroom had a hole in the wall from the door knob, the refrigerator door would not open due to being unlevel and caused the seal to pull away, the toilet tank seal was leaking and caused it to refresh every two minutes, the light on one side of the bed did not function due to no outlet to plug it into. During our stay and ambulance took what appeared to be a homeless person away that had collapsed right outside the main entrance. The stay was short and should I have complained to the staff? Certainly, but I did not believe

I’m not sure what everyone is complaining about. Stayed here last weekend and we had a great stay. Didn’t have a reservation, the staff was very friendly, the room was clean and had great water pressure. Not sure about the breakfast and if they had it or not. I don’t stay in hotels for the breakfast, we stopped at a diner for a good breakfast. The only complaint I had was at one point someone was smoking in their room and it was coming through the vents but we only smelled it that one time and it eventually went away. I would definitely recommend this place to stay. I think people expect the Hilton on an econolodge budget. It is being renovated also.

Tried charging for $90 for supposed damaged linens 2 weeks after my stay to my card. Fire alarm went off at 3 am for no reason

Clean and very friendly staff. Just opened the bar area with game nights and a nice kitchen menu. Managed like a city lounge rather than a small town watering hole. I tried the wings. Great !!! Baked and fried I am guessing in butter. That is the only way to make them so good. Stop in and try them . I wish all the luck to this place.
