Customer Reviews
Jeff and Paula are GREAT owners. They made us feel like part of the camp family. The campground itself is a good size. The heated pool looked fun (it was in the 40’s & 50’s the weekend we were there). Everyone was friendly and went out of their way to welcome us. Maintenance Brian and Chef Miguel were a lot of fun to talk to and hang out with when they weren’t busy. I definitely highly recommend Pope Haven to everyone and we plan on not only staying again but possibly making it our southern tier home base. Another awesome point is that it is in Conewango Amish Country. We love Pope Haven and can’t wait til our next stay.
We stayed at this campground for one night passing through and it was not a pleasant experience at all. I had called ahead for the price, but when we got there we were charged an extra charge ($5.00) for check-in fee and almost $2.00 extra for service fee. I asked if they had Wifi on the phone and was told they had it. Well, the only way to get Wifi was to pay a company $6.00 for one night. I called owners and was told basically "too bad" that Wifi is expensive. The owners are rude and dismissive with anything you inquire about. The showers are horrible with exposed plumbing, etc. and quite dirty. We would never return to this campground.
Went and stayed here I’ve the last weekend and it was nothing short but amazing ! The new owners and staff are extremely nice/outgoing/and really made this trip amazing. We stayed in a camper and it was super clean, we ordered food from the food trailer and oh my lord was it amazing ! Definitely worth it ! Plus they delivered it to the site ! This is an amazing amazing campground highly recommend!!!!!!!! I will be back ! Thank you for the amazing weekend !
The roads need new rock, they were a muddy mess. The camp spots also need new rock, many pot holes made it difficult to level our camper. The pool area is small, on a busy weekend you won’t get a seat. Looks like they expanded to put in a bar but didn’t expand to make the pool area larger. Doesn’t look they have put money toward hospitality like the rock, bathrooms, or ground keeping. The owners look like they could use some help taking care of things, the grass needed mowing desperately but no signs of mowing while we were there for the week. Probably wouldn’t go back if it wasn’t for family being close by.
A great place to unwind and experience the Amish trail. Didn’t realize this is what we were coming to when we arrived but enjoyed deiving to the different Amish stores / homes. As for the campground, it was fine. Place is clean and spaced enough apart. This is mostly seasonal campers with some travelers in one area. Speed limit is 5 mph (which is fine) but golf carts are seen to go much faster and cut through the grass to avoid ruts in road (even staff breaks this rule). Speed bumps a plenty but they are a surprise when you hit one as they are not marked. After we arrived and set camp, the area was trimmed by local Amish boys who ended up trimming a hole in my hose (didn’t discover until I arrived at my next campground 6 hours away but there was grass clippings on my hose and sewer hose)
