Pere Marquette State Park

Built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930's, the Lodge boasts a gargantuan stone fireplace, a walk-through chess board, and lots of comfortable nooks for gatherings. Every winter they offer naturalist-led Eagle sighting sessions and guide you across the meeting of the 3 rivers on local car ferries. Lots of other music and nature offerings here too.

Camped out with friends in the first come spots. Excellent sky views at night with little to no light pollution. The 2 hikes we did were a good workout too. Went across the street for sunset on the docks... highly recommend.

This park is a nature's lovers paradise. Located in Grafton Illinois at the confluence of the Mississippi and Illinois Rivers. We took the main circle drive thru the park which had many pull offs for you to get out and enjoy the views. Unfortunately we never made it back to see the main Lodge. A great park for camping and hiking. The visitors center open daily from 8-3pm. Plenty of parking as well as public facilities thru out.

There are multiple trails that goes up and down this mountain or hill and the views from the higher ones are amazon in person! I've only done 2 different trails, so far there's not too much foot traffic in the evenings.

Enjoy hiking and exploring the park. Getting to the peak point to watch the sunset is amazing and visiting during the fall is a magical experience
