Papalote Encino Campground

Great site that’s fairly easy to access. The road there is technically listed as two wheel drive, but honestly this whole state park is four wheel drive requires. As to the campsite, though, we loved it. You have roaming cattle, donkeys, and coyotes that will visit. Plus the occasional bike packers. Make sure you have some extra clean water to share with the cyclists!

There is a wildlife water source here, so if camping at the single site the potential exists to hear burros and cattle all night. Just an FYI. Park service keeps the site up well.
