While we are not horsemen, my husband and I so enjoyed our stay at this remote and picturesque campground. The property reflects great pride and financial investment: nicely-appointed and immaculate bathroom facilities; well-spaced campsites; classy equine stalls; and accommodating service second to none. Highly recommended!
The campground is clean, quiet and friendly. Our horses enjoyed having covered stalls and we enjoyed being parked next to them. The air conditioned bathroom/shower house was perfect after a full day in the saddle. It is located near Buckskin Canyon, but to get to other sites it is worth hauling out for the day and accessing trails closer to the east side.
Really beautiful location. Quiet. Friendly staff. Only 15 minutes from the state park. My only complaint is that the drives for RVs are a little narrow. Bathrooms and showers at main check-in were immaculate. We didn’t have horses, but the stalls looked impeccably clean and practically brand new.
Our family had a wonderful time here. We didn’t bring a horse so I can’t comment on that part, but the new horse stalls did look very nice. The campsite was clean, well maintained, and quiet. Great mix of grassy areas and tree cover. The site manager, Branson, was responsive, laid back, and accommodating. We were anywhere from 10-25 minutes from local attractions (although we saw many horse trails much closer for those bringing a horse). There are 3 clean bathrooms with private showers at the front office building, and the “outhouse” bathrooms closer to the campsites were also clean. The one recommendation would be better lighting in the outhouse toilets. There is a motion sensor light for night time, but during the day it is still very dark without a lantern. The site was extremely peacef
We enjoyed our stay at Palmerosa this past weekend. The trailhead for hocking hills bridle trails were relatively close. Just a half mile ride on a back rode to get to them. Campground was well maintained and the bathrooms were very nice. The staff was super helpful and present when we needed them. Wish they would have had more ice in their store but besides that we had an awesome time. Will definitely be returning with our horses.
