OYO Hotel Redwood Falls near Jackpot Casino

This has to have been one of the worst places I have ever had the misfortune of booking, and I travel weekly for work. When I arrived, the exterior of the building looked like it had seen better days, but that didn’t concern me too much. Then I walked up to the entrance, and there was food, clearly placed by the hotel. Right outside the entrance doors, the food was being fed on by wild animals. Definitely a major red flag. When I walked inside, the dilapidated exterior proved to be indicative of the interior with ceiling panels missing, discolored, and falling down.||I waited for 5-10 minutes for staff to arrive to check me in but no one arrived. I`ve choosed OYO Hotel Redwood Falls because I had stayed in OYO Times Square. I picked this hotel because I had to be in Olivia, MN (only 30 minutes from RedWood Falls). What the web shows is the opposite from reality. The hotel needs to be painted from the outside. The reception was empty. I waited for 15 minutes (clap my hands, shouted.... nobody came). I called the phone number in the phone desk. The guy who answered my call told me he will be back in one hour, I said "What?". After five minutes he told me go to room XX the door is open. Get into that room. The room had a bad smell. The towels were old, the bed didnt looked clean. I logged into the web, search for another hotel (at that point I didnt care I they charged me 100 u$s). The hotel is a disaster. We booked for one night because the photos looked decent. When we arrived, we were horrified—it was a complete mess, totally abandoned. We entered the lobby and there was no one to greet us. We called by phone and were told to wait an hour because the person had "gone shopping." THEY NEVER SHOWED UP. They gave us instructions over the phone on how to get to the room, and when we entered, the nauseating, stale smell nearly knocked us out. The beds were made, but the sheets had a rotten, old, damp odor that was unbearable. We waited four hours to see if someone would show up and change our room—NO ONE EVER DID. We ended up leaving for another hotel without ever having the chance to speak to a real person.

Positive: "" Negative: The motel was going through remodeling and needs a lot of work. Our room was clean and tidy. No ac in the hallways to the rooms. No local tv programming only streaming.

I just needed hot shower, relaxing evening watching a little bit of TV (they had Roku which was great) and sleep so this no frill hotel met my requirements great. They had a breakfast which I picked fruits and yogurt. I'd definitely come back to stay again
