Old Clark Inn

We loved our stay at the Old Clark Inn! Changes made over the past few years that streamline the check-in along with the 24-hr limited snacks and drinks were all positive and made for a welcoming stay. Beds were comfortable - we will be back!

Located in the heart of the tiny town of Marlinton. They offer simple clean rooms in an old home. There is great storage for your bike and a nice garden and deck out the back. It is self check-in and that worked fine for me. The bathroom did not have an exhaust fan that I saw. The breakfast was limited to cereal and packaged items- I did expect more considering the cost of the room. Maybe they could add some fresh fruit, yogurt and hard boiled eggs? Anyway, overall a good stay.

This was our second time to stay at the Old Clark Inn and bike the Greenbrier River Trail. The accommodations are perfect, the location is ideal, and the innkeeper is great. Everything is immaculate and a great setup in the kitchen area and living room whether you want to eat or relax after a ride. They also transported our vehicle twice so we could ride the trail in 3 days without hauling everything in panniers. |We’ll be back!

The location is excellent—right in town and easy to walk to everything in Marlinton. The room and bathroom were very clean, and the shared kitchen area was bright, modern, and thoughtfully set up with self-serve breakfast foods. It’s clear the owners have put a lot of care into anticipating guests’ needs and adding small, considerate touches. The room itself was small, but this is an older house, and that’s an understandable limitation. The major issue, and the reason for this mixed review, was fragrance. The bedding was washed in extremely strong scented detergent and fabric softener, and the smell was overwhelming. Every time we turned over in bed, the odor was released again. Old Clark Inn is a gem in the mountains of West Virginia! The rooms and public spaces are spotless. The rooms are cozy. Reminded me of staying at my grandparents' house in an upstairs bedroom. Received a warm welcome when we arrived and given a brief tour. Thank you for a wonderful overnight stay!
