Okeechobee Inn

Don't do it. I was traveling for work and needed a room at the last minute. They refused to let me see the room first, after waiting downstairs for an hour to speak to someone.

It's a bed, a toilet, and a shower. They all worked, not the best, but they worked, for a place this old in the middle of nowhere, it's not bad. Cash only, truck parking, most say no wifi, it's 2025, your phone has internet? I didn't see any roaches as mentioned in other reviews. No breakfast or coffee, but across the street, the pilot is open 24 hours. If I had to, I would stay again, not many choices in the area.

I stayed here a couple of years ago and left a review that it was "barely adequate."||I was going to restate that feeling except that when I woke up I found that a mouse had eaten into my wrapped up sandwich on the table.||The room was very clean with no bugs at all. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. The TV had few channels and the local one had no sound. There is no microwave, which is why I left my breakfast sandwich on the counter instead of putting it in the fridge...I couldn't heat it up the next morning.||If it was not for the mouse, I would recommend this motel in a pinch.||I was on foot so I didn't have the option of driving somewhere else. Fifteen miles north is the town of Clewiston which has MANY very nice motels.||I paid $65.

Appearance of motel is run-down. The room was adequate, clean enough, absolutely no bugs, mattress was comfortable. The only amenities were a TV and a small refrigerator.||The staff was not very friendly, and couldn't find them at checkout.||Ask to see the room first. The first room we looked at was not clean enough.||They first quoted us $60 (including taxes) we offered $55 (including taxes) and they accepted. ||I think you should ask for $45.
